South Korea will impose mandatory resume management on special-purpose foods

On February 3, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea announced that: In order to manage the safety of special-purpose foods consumed by pregnant women, breastfeeding women and patients, From December this year, MFDS will enforces the retrospective management and registration of resumes for special-purpose food production and import companies with sales exceeding 100 million won.
Special purpose foods: milk formula , infant formula foods, growth phase formula foods, infant complementary foods (registered), foods for pregnant and breastfeeding women, foods for special medical purposes, formula foods for weight adjusting (the scope of registration is being expanded).
Food resume retrospective management refers to the recording of information at all stages from food production, processing to sales, and when food safety incidents and other problems occur, the causes will be tracked and identified, and necessary measures will be taken such as recalls.
